POTTSTOWN PA - A two-hour “Community Clean-Up” event, targeting litter along North Franklin Street and other areas nearby, is planned for late September.
Pottstown Community Action is taking the initiative to organize neighbors, families, and friends for the effort. The clean-up is scheduled for Sept. 26 (Saturday) from 10 a.m. to noon.
Volunteers will gather at Pottstown Middle School, 600. N. Franklin St., as a meeting point. Pottstown Community Action is providing volunteers with gloves, trash bags, water, and pizza once the work is done.
Advance online registration is requested, so organizers can adequately plan for the number of volunteers.
Every bag filled with picked-up trash “makes a difference," Pottstown Community Action notes.
Litter on blocks where kids must walk poses a variety of problems, the non-profit group suggests. “Together,” it adds, “we can make a big difference" in eliminating it.
