LIMERICK PA - Overnight pavement repairs, scheduled for Nov. 11-12 (Wednesday and Thursday), will close and detour the eastbound U.S. Route 422 ramp from Township Line Road, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) says.
Workers will perform pavement preservation work on 422. It includes milling, application of a bituminous overlay, reapplying pavement markings, and reinstalling edge-line rumble strips. Base repair work will also be performed as needed.
The work is part of a $6.2 million project to resurface and repair a 4.4-mile section of the highway in Limerick and Upper Providence townships.
Drivers should be aware of these restrictions:
- On both days - Wednesday, Nov. 11, and Thursday, Nov. 12, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning - the ramp from Township Line Road (Royersford/Trappe) to eastbound U.S. 422 will be closed and detoured. During the closure, drivers will be directed to use westbound U.S. 422, the Linfield/Limerick exit, and Lewis Road.
Travelers may want to allow extra time when driving near the work area, or along the detour route. Backups and delays may occur, PennDOT acknowledges. The work schedule of its general contractor, Allan Myers Inc. of Worcester PA, depends on acceptable weather.
