Traffic Shift Scheduled Nov. 6-7 on U.S. Route 422 West

KING OF PRUSSIA PA - A traffic shift will occur next Friday and Saturday (Nov. 6-7, 2026) across portions of U.S. 422 in Lower Pottsgrove and North Coventry townships, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced.

Drivers should be aware, it added, that lane closures will result. They will be in place, from Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. until Nov. 7 at 7 p.m., on 422 in both directions between its Sanatoga and Hanover Street interchanges.

The traffic shift will move westbound 422 traffic onto the newly reconstructed westbound lanes. That will allow PennDOT’s contractor to begin reconstruction of the middle section of the highway. Eastbound traffic will remain in its current configuration.

The agency said that action will mark the start of the final stage of the highway’s current construction.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area. Backups and delays will occur, PennDOT said. The contractor’s work schedule depends on weather conditions.

The work is part of PennDOT’s $83.6 million project to reconstruct and improve approximately 2.1 miles of the expressway. It also is replacing bridges between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road in Lower Pottsgrove.
