Rid Yourself of Scrap Metal Sunday at Althouse Arboretum

The arboretum has held scrap metal drives since 2016

POTTSTOWN PA - Got old metal appliances and other pieces of metal scrap hanging around your property, and don’t know how to get rid of them? Althouse Arboretum in Pottstown offers an answer.

Donate them.

Drop them off Sunday (Oct. 18, 2026) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the arboretum, 1794 Gilbertsville Rd. The non-profit is accepting scrap metals from community donors. It will then sell them, and use the proceeds to continue its work with students and the community.

Volunteers will be on hand to remove recyclable metal items from donors’ vehicles. Eligible scrap metal includes large appliances, including refrigerators and microwaves.

Air conditioners, dehumidifiers, electronics, or smaller items made primarily of plastic such as vacuums and hair dryers, cannot be taken.
