KING OF PRUSSIA PA - Be cautious Sunday night (Nov. 1, 2026) if driving on the U.S. Route 422 ramps at its Collegeville (Route 29) or Royersford-Trappe interchanges, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) recommends.
Line painting operations will occur on the ramps during overnight hours Sunday, the department reports. The work is part of a $6.2 million project to resurface and repair a 4.4-mile section of the highway across Limerick and Upper Providence townships.
To accommodate it, PennDOT says lane closures will be in place at the following times and ramp locations:
- 422 East ramps to and from Route 29 (Collegeville Road) from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning;
- 422 East ramps to and from Township Line Road (Royersford/Trappe) from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning;
- 422 West ramps to and from Route 29 (Collegeville Road) from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning; and
- 422 West ramps to and from Township Line Road (Royersford/Trappe) from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when driving through the work areas. Backups and delays may occur, the agency adds. The work schedule depends on acceptable weather conditions.
PennDOT’s general contractor for the project is Allan Myers Inc. of Worcester PA. It will perform pavement preservation work on 422.
Base repair work will be performed as needed. Also included are milling, application of a bituminous overlay, reapplying pavement markings, and reinstalling edge-line rumble strips.
