SPCA Offers Spay, Neuter Services Free to Pottstown Pet Owners

POTTSTOWN PA - Residents in the 19464 (Pottstown) and 19401 (Norristown) zip codes can take advantage of free spay and neutering services for their cats or dogs through Sept. 30 (2026; Wednesday).

The no-cost offer, announced on Facebook, is being made by the Montgomery County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). It began Sept. 1 and continues until the end of the month. The SPCA operates two facilities: at 1059 Sweisford Rd., Perkiomenville PA,  and 19 E. Ridge Pk., Conshohocken PA.

Commenters on several social media pages indicated they appreciated the SPCA effort. A similar offer for Pottstown and Norristown pet owners also was made earlier this year.

The number of available appointments is reportedly limited. SPCA promotional material also indicate other conditions could apply.

Those interested should call the SPCA nearest them and make an appointment. For the Perkiomenville campus call 610-754-7822, or for Conshohocken, 610-825-0111. Participants must show proof of residence by providing a valid photo ID that matches a current Pottstown or Norristown address.

The two facilities also give owners the opportunity to microchip their pets during the appointment. It costs $10, and can be ordered when appointments are made.
