NORRISTOWN PA - Elmwood Park Zoo, the Norristown-based live animal attraction accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, said Friday (Aug. 22, 2025) on its Facebook page that admission to the zoo would be free to the public on Labor Day (Sept. 1; Monday).
The zoo, located at 1661 Harding Blvd., on will operate Labor Day during its regular hours, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Zoo members with annual membership, however, will be admitted an hour earlier, at 9 a.m.
More than 300 animals are on display in exhibits that span the zoo’s 16-acre property.
It encouraged members to take advantage of the early admission benefit. “Don’t miss out on your last chance to enjoy this member-exclusive perk this season!,” the zoo suggested.
For all who want to attend, zoo officials strongly suggest they register in advance online. To prevent overcrowding, admission is being limited to specific entry times.
The zoo made a similar offer on Independence Day (July 4) that drew hundreds of people to the zoo in the borough’s surrounding Elmwood Park. It was estimated then that a Montgomery County family of four likely would save $54 in admission fees as a result of the zoo’s generosity.
